Brazil is also developing scientific capacity to enhance cooperation and disseminate information on present and future global changes in Latin America in collaboration with the Inter American Institute for Global Change Research.

In addition to their involvement in global research programmes relating to climate change, including GCOS and GOOS, many Parties reported on their cooperation in activities conducted by the WMO, on international global atmospheric chemistry, past global changes and global changes in terrestrial ecosystems.

In my graduate years I worked with my colleague and mentor and friend, Steve Schneider, at the National Center for Atmospheric Research, working on global change issues.

Furthermore, the University apos s mandate calls for the devoting of its work to research on pressing global problems that are in a state of continuous change.

Uruguay was a founding member of the Inter American Institute for Global Change Research and had hosted the high level meeting at which it had been established.
