Currently, the appeals process consisted of several stages staff members wishing to contest a decision must submit a request for administrative review before they could file an appeal with the Joint Appeals Board, and they had no access to the United Nations Administrative Tribunal until their case had been disposed of by the Board.

The Grievance Committee of the International Monetary Fund, for example the equivalent of the United Nations Joint Appeals Board was chaired by experienced labour management arbitrators.

25A.20 A provision of 117,700, including a growth of 56,000, is proposed to cover general temporary assistance to the Joint Appeals Board in processing cases.
