C. Office of the United Nations Ombudsman

Under the Ombudsman Act 1983 (Vic), the Ombudsman should make independent inquiries into administrative action taken by relevant public bodies.

Accordingly, a General Service (Other level) post is requested, which will enable the team in the Office of the Ombudsman to process the workload in a timely manner.

The ethic of public service is being replaced by contracts and financial incentives.

Section 3 Terms of reference of the Ombudsman

These are, primarily, the Human Rights Chamber and the Bosnia and Herzegovina Ombudsman and Entity offices of the Ombudsman for Human Rights.

This can include reforms to macroeconomic policy, the civil service, and public financial management.

Avenues to redress discriminatory practices through the government machinery are available through the Public Service Commission, Office of the Ombudsman, Labour Department, Unions or through the use of private lawyers.

All staff members have voluntary access to the Ombudsman.
