An amount of 30,000 per month is included for payment of food and accommodation allowance paid locally in respect of nights spent away from the base station.

The requirement for air crew subsistence allowance covers contractual obligations for the payment of accommodation and food allowance for air and ground crews which was not included in the original cost estimate.

Furthermore, no provision had been included in the cost estimates for payment made locally for meals and accommodation in respect of nights spent away from the base station by the air crew.

11. Provision is made for prefabricated accommodation to house officers currently living in hotel accommodation.

Accommodation containers 146. As indicated in table 5, container accommodation is needed for 13,403 troops.

Additional provision is made for the payment of an accommodation allowance at 60 per person per day and a meal allowance of 20 per person per day to military personnel outposted from Somalia to locations where United Nations accommodation and rations may not be available.

Payment for environmental services

6. Provision is made for payment of a meal and accommodation allowance to 25 staff officers for a total of 9,125 person days at the rates specified in paragraph 3 of annex VI.
