Entities

Once individuals and entities are placed on the Consolidated List, they are added to a schedule attached to the regulations, which requires the freezing of their assets.

The Committee requests all States to submit additional identifying information on individuals and entities already placed on the consolidated list and also strongly urges States to submit new names of individuals or entities belonging to or associated with Al Qaida or the Taliban.

Since January 2004, the Committee has added 26 individuals and 15 entities to the Consolidated List as belonging to or associated with Al Qaida.

No listed individuals or entities have brought a lawsuit or engaged in legal proceedings against Trinidad and Tobago's authorities for inclusion in the list.

The Committee is aware of the importance of the circulation of the consolidated list and that the proper implementation of sanctions measures depends on Member States circulating the consolidated list to all appropriate authorities, intelligence agencies, designated non financial entities and professionals as relevant.

The establishment of a definition of the term associated with Osama bin Laden, Al Qaida and the Taliban will certainly help to refine the existing list of individuals and entities.

The Consolidated List of Individuals and Entities Belonging to or Associated with the Taliban and Al Qaida is an expression of the resolve of the international community to defeat terrorism in general and to combat the individuals and entities supporting Al Qaida and the Taliban in particular.

ENTITIES OF THE FINANCIAL MECHANISM

As provided by the resolutions, these Decrees provide for enforcing sanctions related to the Taliban and Osama bin Laden, including a specific list of designated persons and entities.

Other cases have been filed or decided in several other countries that, while not challenging the sanctions, involve individuals or entities on the Consolidated List.

The List currently contains 442 entries 182 individuals and 116 entities associated with Al Qaida, and 143 individuals and one entity associated with the Taliban.

12. and 13. To date, no transaction has been detected relating to individuals, entities, undertakings or groups connected to the list established by the Committee.
