The expansion in the Court apos s case load has required the Court and its Registry to introduce a number of expedients to contain costs which cannot continue without serious adverse consequences on the efficiency of the Court and its Registry.

As with the Court as a whole, the Registry recognizes the importance of regular dialogue with partners.

The Committee also discussed various issues relating to the pension of the members of the Court, the size of the Court Registry staff and other matters pertaining to the Court apos s budget.

In order to enable the Court to operate efficiently and to work in a web based environment, the Registry has established a number of information systems. The Registry has also undertaken comparative studies in relation to the establishment of the permanent premises of the Court.

As the Court develops, the Registry must ensure that the administrative structures meet the Court's needs.

Numerous requests to obtain these documents from the Office of the Attorney General, the Registry of the Assizes Court, the Court of Appeal and his lawyers went unanswered.

The Registry also maintains a constructive dialogue with the host State on various aspects of the work of the Court.

C. Registry

Even though the District Court reversed its decision, the Registry was not corrected until January 1997, three months after Waldemar's appeal to the Circuit Court had been finally determined and denied by that Court.

The Registrar has held meetings at the seat of the Court with non governmental organizations on matters falling within the responsibilities of the Registry.

This is evident in the record and the registry of the International Court of Justice. Many States have chosen to have recourse to the Court to settle their differences and disputes and have accepted and implemented the Court apos s rulings.

To support the judicial and institutional activities of the Special Court, a number of offices were established within the Registry which are now fully operational.

The new post resources are sought so as to enable the Registry to increase its capacity to support the increased workload of the Court.

In January 2003, the Registry moved to the prefabricated office facilities set up on the permanent premises of the Special Court in New England, Freetown.

On 7 October 1993, in a telephone call from the court registry, the authors' counsel was informed that the Court had handed down a judgement the previous day rejecting this application.

5.16 The Registry of the Court consists of a Registrar and a Deputy Registrar who are elected for a term of seven years and may be re elected.
