UNIFIL was assisted in its tasks by 51 UNTSO military observers.

It is expected that the authorized level of 354 military observers will be maintained throughout this period and that 177 military observers will rotate during the period.

The operational plan for UNOSOM called for the deployment of 50 military observers.

They would be assisted in their work by a group of 50 United Nations military observers.

9. There are 19 United Nations Military Observers (UNMOs) in the area of operations.

The cost estimate provides for 48 military personnel, comprising a core strength of 41 military observers and 7 medical personnel.

The current strength of UNOMIG stands at 12 military observers.

It is estimated that during this period there will be rotation of 12 military observers.

Provision is made for rotation of 12 military observers at the rate indicated in paragraph 4 above.

It will consist of a total of 20 military observers and will be composed of the traditional branches of military staff.

Provision is made for the payment of a clothing allowance at a rate of 100 per person for 19 military observers.

In addition, provision has been made for 12 military observers and 35 civilian police.

By 25 June 1993, some 260 military observers of the 354 authorized had been deployed to perform these tasks.

The reductions of some 129 civilian staff, 31 military observers and 268 civilian police monitors were proposed during the month of May 1994.

2. Twelve military observers were deployed to the mission area on 23 September 1994.

The cost estimate provides for the rotation travel of 255 military observers, at the rate mentioned in paragraph 3 above.

Provision is made for mission subsistence allowance for 61 military personnel (50 military observers and 11 military medical personnel) as indicated in table 1 below.

UNAVEM II has continued to operate under its reduced strength of 50 military observers, 18 civilian police observers and 11 military paramedical staff, complemented by a small number of international and local personnel.

The Russian Federation has assigned 25 military observers to serve with the United Nations forces in Mozambique.

The cost estimate provides for 38 military personnel consisting of 31 military observers and 7 medical personnel.

Provision is also made for repatriation travel of 31 military observers at the end of the mandate period ( 62,000).

Provision is made for one way travel for the repatriation of 354 military observers as per the rate indicated in annex II.

It was estimated that 20 military observers, 120 support personnel and 20 civilian police monitors would be required in connection with this enlargement of UNPROFOR apos s mandate.

Provision is made for travel costs for the rotation of 80 military observers ( 560,000) and for the repatriation of 251 observers ( 878,500) at the rate indicated in paragraph 4 above.

Those tasks were carried out by a contingent of 145 military observers and medical personnel authorized by the Security Council as an adjunct to MINUGUA.

The strength of UNOMIG as at 1 July 2005 stood at 120 military observers and 12 civilian police officers (see annex).

It is anticipated that 576 military observers out of a total authorized strength of 578 will be deployed by the end of the current mandate period.

These figures include the 81 military observers serving with UNOMUR (see S 26878).

Further requests by the Secretary General could be considered if UNOMIG is expanded beyond its current level of 21 military observers.

3. Provision is made for travel costs for the rotation of 320 military observers at the rate specified in paragraph 4 of annex VI.

The cost estimate is calculated at 1 per cent of the average monthly strength of 135 military observers.

The strength of UNOMIG on 1 January 2005 stood at 117 military observers and 11 civilian police officers (see annex).

(c) The addition of 50 military observers, to be distributed throughout the sectors, to enhance UNPROFOR apos s ability to observe and report.

For instance, my country is participating in the United Nations Observer Mission in Liberia (UNOMIL), in which we have 20 military observers.

Travel costs . 1 251 200 Provision is made for the repatriation travel of the 368 military observers, as indicated in paragraph 3 above.

9. It is anticipated that the total authorized strength of 748 military observers will be deployed by 15 August 1994.

Provision is made for clothing allowance for 354 military observers at the rate of 200 per annum per observer, prorated for the period covered.

Provision is made for purchase of the following temporary office housing for 86 military observers in the Zugdidi and Gali Sectors as follows

The net decrease of a total of 130 posts, comprising 45 international staff posts, 49 national staff posts and 36 United Nations Volunteers posts, is a result of the downsizing and subsequent liquidation of the Mission.

As indicated in those paragraphs, the enhancement of the Force in Croatia would require an additional 400 troops all ranks and 50 military observers.

The cost estimate for the period from 1 November 1993 to 31 October 1994 provides for 255 military observers.

Additionally, 45 military observers, the balance of the authorized strength of 300, are on stand by.
