The panel shall be composed of an appropriate number of panel members determined by the Executive Board.

A. Reconstituting of the Accountability Panel as the Management Performance Board

81. Another session of the Board is usually held immediately after the Panel apos s session.

In establishing a panel, the Executive Board shall appoint two Executive Board members to act as Chair and Vice Chair of the panel, one from a Party included in Annex I and one from a Party not included in Annex I.

That pattern is advantageous in view of the interrelationship between the Board apos s agenda and the items for consideration by the Panel and, as the members of the Board are also members of the Panel, additional travel costs are avoided.

(e) (i) For the consideration of each appeal, the presiding officer of the appropriate Joint Appeals Board shall constitute a panel of the Board, composed as follows

This led to an exchange of correspondence between the Chairman of the Panel of External Auditors and the Chairman of the Pension Board, on the basis of which agreement was reached to place before the Pension Board the following requests made by the Panel of External Auditors

F. Board of Auditors and Panel of External Auditors of the United Nations, Specialized Agencies and the International Atomic Energy Agency

His delegation believed that reconstituting the Accountability Panel as the Management Performance Board was a step in the right direction, and hoped that the Board would be more effective than its predecessor.

The Board of Auditors met with representatives of the Pension Fund to discuss the modalities for implementing the Panel apos s recommendations.

On the basis of the request of the General Assembly and the concerns of the Panel of External Auditors (which includes the Board of Auditors) the Panel had fruitful discussions with the Chairman and Rapporteur of the Committee of Actuaries, and the Secretary of the Pension Board in November 1993.

Furthermore, the Board recommended that UNDP include in the file of the selected candidate the minutes of the related ad hoc panel meetings.

Also, the Board met with the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions and participated in the deliberations of the Panel of External Auditors.

25A.3 The Office of the Under Secretary General is also responsible for the administration of justice in the Secretariat and includes the secretariats of the Headquarters Joint Appeals Board, Joint Disciplinary Committee, Grievance Panel and Panel of Counsel.
