What is needed is to move from the present approach of stressing and protecting the independence of each oversight body and their separate mandates and to develop a culture of positive cooperation among oversight bodies.

Stakeholders in the Strategic Approach will undertake a phased approach to its implementation, taking into account guidance provided by the oversight body.

We agree that the Office of Internal Oversight Services should provide internal oversight services for small United Nations agencies with insufficient current oversight capacity.
