24. Provision is made for maintenance services to office and accommodation buildings.

Savings totalled 7,652,300 under this heading for maintenance supplies ( 225,000), utilities ( 362,600) and construction prefabricated buildings ( 7,064,700).

Increasing span lengths increases the usable unencumbered floorspace in buildings diminishing the number of joints leads to lower maintenance costs over the design life of a building, since joints are the major focus of weakness in concrete buildings.

Local governments provide funding for study materials, the maintenance and repairs of school buildings, the technical staff at school, meals of students and utilities.
