Health care protection is provided in a uniform system of health care activities by the implementation of measures of primary, specialist and consulting and hospital health care protection.

(b) Views of the International Committee of the Red Cross and other bodies on protection

In April 2003 the Congress of the Union approved amendments to the General Health Act establishing the Social Health Protection System.

In Republika Srpska, competent authorities are the Ministry of Labour and War Veterans' Protection and the Ministry of Health and Social Protection.
