As regards excess allotments, the Administration informed the Board that a system had been established whereby the issuance of allotments was accompanied by a report which indicated, by section, the amounts appropriated by the General Assembly, the level of allotments previously issued and the level of allotments proposed to be issued.

The partial funding system allows a maximum of 267.0 million outstanding future allocations.

The Board apos s main concern is that the late issue of sub allotment advices and inadequate monitoring of expenditures erodes the effectiveness of the allotment system as a tool for the control of expenditure.

The figures for allocation income from UNDP are the same as reported for total expenditure in line with UNDP procedures which require that allocations be adjusted to equal actual expenditure
