The role of peer workers in mental health services was the subject of a conference in London in April 2012, jointly organised by the Centre for Mental Health and the NHS Confederation.

This means that the Conference can hold up to two meetings daily, with full services, including interpretation in all official languages of the United Nations.

The Joint Secretariat serviced two meetings of the OAU Permanent Steering Committee at the expert level, and one meeting at the ministerial level.

It can also provide services and expertise in the field of peace building such as holding of elections, drafting of national legislations and international agreements and assisting in the administration of justice and human rights measures.
