The right to pension and disability insurance

Survivor's pension The right to a survivor's pension is regulated by the Law On State Pensions.

Persons disabled under age 30, by illness or job injury, acquire the right to disability pension if their pension seniority covers at least one third of their work life expectancy.

Converting unfunded pension schemes to funded pension systems is one option available to Governments.

The right to a disability pension is acquired by persons insured obligatorily or voluntarily in the following cases

The pension fund.

For the exercising of the right related to the pension and disability insurance, as well as determined needs and interests in the area of that insurance, two entity funds for pension and invalid insurance have been established.

Every party that is insured by pension or disability insurance gains the right to disability pension if the disability is caused by an injury outside of work or by disease under the condition that they have fulfilled a pension service that would cover at least one third of their work service.

To exercise rights and identified requirements and interest to pension and disability insurance, the pension disability insurance fund was established.

Only persons who are employees of the founders of pension funds may be participants of pension plans of the closed pension fund.
