The reporting examines current issues facing the country, and also features evergreen material documenting what life in a war torn country looks like.

For example, a newspaper may provide quality, unbiased coverage of the economy, health, and other issues, but still avoid reporting on the government.

On the 1373 Committee, my delegation looks forward to coordination among the three Committees on the matter of addressing issues related to reporting.

Other issues discussed were the role of the United Nations in providing impartial, objective reporting on returnees, displacement and compensation, notably in relation to Kirkuk and other areas where these issues had proved controversial.
