The Nutmeg.

Until the mid 19th century the Banda Islands were the world's only source of the spices nutmeg and mace, produced from the nutmeg tree.

And I can light up the Nutmeg like a beacon.

So I've been busy with a couple of projects, and one of them was this The Nutmeg.

During the day, the Nutmeg collects energy from solar panels on the roof of the wheelhouse, and from a 450 watt turbine up the mast.

This is particularly so with small, open, primary producing economies, where one serious natural disaster, such as a hurricane, can devastate all the fruits of our national labour invested in bananas, cocoa and nutmeg.

The primary commodity exports that are important to island developing countries include bananas, sugar, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, spices, nutmeg, fish, wood and a few minerals (copper, gold and phosphates, which are important, however, to only very few of them).
