The European Union vigorously condemns acts of aggression against the humanitarian convoys.

Typical of such incidents are the targeting with small arms fire of United Nations aid convoys during the last week of July 1994, and repeated blockage of convoys at checkpoints.

Even convoys escorted by the police are attacked by groups of armed men.

Today, however, we hope that convoys of goods will roll across our territory.

(c) Impediment of free movement of UNPROFOR and protected humanitarian convoys under protection.

UNPROFOR may provide escort for convoys and other vehicles as it deems necessary.

Concurrently, all humanitarian convoys destined for Gorazde and its surroundings have been halted.

Mostar is located at one of the major supply routes for the humanitarian relief convoys.

There have been numerous incidents of interference with and theft from convoys travelling to Gorazde.

However, we are concerned about the blockade, mainly by the Serb forces, of the humanitarian convoys.

I would like to remind you of my interventions in favour of free passage for humanitarian convoys.

The provision of relief has involved negotiation of access routes, coordination of airlifting supplies into Sarajevo, delivery of relief by road convoys, and the organization of air drops of relief supplies to areas under siege not accessible by road convoys.
