We left off in the last video in the Archean eon, where Arche comes from ancient Greek, meaning beginning or origin, and it's the eon in which either life first starts to exist, or at least it's first starts to somewhat flourish, it's possible that maybe life starts to exist at the end of the Hadean eon and of course, this boundary is big.

So as we go through the Proteozoic eon,

When the Archean began, the Earth's heat flow was nearly three times as high as it is today, and it was still twice the current level at the transition from the Archean to the Proterozoic (2,500 ).

The other really interesting thing that happened in the Archeon eon that really has a profound effects once we get to the Proteozoic eon is that you start to have cyanobacteria to produce oxygen.
