With the Committee's consent, Carlyle Corbin, on behalf of the Government of the United States Virgin Islands, made a statement (see A AC.109 2005 SR.11).

The historian Thomas Carlyle considered Muhammad one of the world's greatest heroes, yet even he called the Koran as toilsome reading as I ever undertook, a wearisome, confused jumble.

On the recommendation of the Chief Minister of the British Virgin Islands, Carlyle Corbin, representative of the Governor of the United States Virgin Islands, was appointed Secretary of the Conference.

At its 9th meeting, on 16 June 2005, with the consent of the Special Committee, Carlyle Corbin, representative of the Government of the United States Virgin Islands, made a statement (see A AC.109 2005 SR.9).

6. At its 3rd meeting, on 12 October, the Fourth Committee granted a request for hearing to Mr. Carlyle Corbin of the Working Group of Non Independent Caribbean Countries of the Caribbean Development and Cooperation Committee (A C.4 48 3).

Mr. Carlyle Corbin, representative of the Caribbean Non Self Governing Territories, referred to perceived constitutional limitations which played a role in limiting the access of the Non Self Governing Territories to programmes and activities of the United Nations system, and from the international community as a whole.

At the 4th meeting of the Special Committee on the Situation with regard to the Implementation of the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples, on 8 June 2004, Carlyle Corbin, on behalf of the Government of the United States Virgin Islands, made a statement (see A AC.109 2004 SR.4).

15. In accordance with a decision taken at the 1431st meeting, Mr. Carlyle Corbin, the representative of the Governor of the United States Virgin Islands, participated in the work of the Special Committee in its consideration of the question of the United States Virgin Islands and made a statement at the 1432nd meeting, on the same day (A AC.109 PV.1432).
